My grandfather liked houses that were plumb and level. El sr J feels the same way, but since we've always lived in old houses, the only plumb and level parts were ones he constructed. Here's the floor just outside the bedroom:
The bubble seems to be way over to the right:
Me, I kind of like the effect of a level revolutionary woman over an unlevel door frame:
Or the way the wall in the hall snakes in and out over the straight line of the tile:
Our bedroom (nuestra recámara) is an especially interesting example of special spatial planning. The front wall is 7' 1" wide:
The back wall is 8'5" wide:
The room is 16'7" long. At first we put our bed lengthwise, but that gave us only about a foot on each side to get out of bed. So we turned it around. Now I have 19" at the foot and el sr J has 14". The room has several interesting features. A take-out food window to the hallway:
And a funky attack door. Note the hardware protruding from the outside:
These things occasionally reach out and grab me:
It looks a little better from the inside, but it's going to be replaced with wood:
We went to Migración this morning to inform them of our change of address. We had our passports, FMs, 2 copies of a water bill with our present address, and 2 copies of a letter saying we swear the information about our address is true. We had neglected to bring copies of our passports and FMs. We thought all the copies they already have would suffice. But no. So we found a copy place nearby and took the copies back. Now we have to wait until they notify us on their website to come back again. Just to change our address!
Still no CableCom.
