My grandfather hated halls. Wasted space, he said. So I grew up in a house designed by him with no halls.
So look at this hall that runs the whole length of the bedroom. That would be 16' 7".

So what do you do with a hall that long? Besides park a bike. We can't get rid of it because then you'd have to walk through our bedroom to get to the rest of the house.
This is the hall ceiling with a tiny skylight. We hope to put in one the entire length of the hall.
Tomorrow I'll tell you why the take-out window is covered with plastic bags.
