In the beginning Spanish texts I've used, "bedroom" has always been "
alcoba" or "
dormitorio." Here it's "
recamara." And this is ours.
Last year I realized we were maybe the only couple we knew still sleeping in a double bed. Now, after 48 years of marriage, we have a queen sized bed. How about that! The bedroom is small, but the bed fits. The one (yes, one) outlet in the room is on the wall behind the bed.

Plenty of closet space for the likes of us.

These little screened circles are all over the casita. Ventilation and humidity control, we're thinking.

Skylights in the ceiling (that's too far up for mosquito swatting).
Next on the agenda: bedside tables and lights, and art on the walls.
